I fell in love with textured hair by learning my own.
I’m Selina. Figuring out my own hair turned into a career, and when I got into the industry in 2017 I saw how much textured hair was still being guessed at. Lots of rules and product talk, not much attention paid to the person in the chair.
So I kept training. Different cutting methods, different textures, anything that made me better at reading hair instead of sorting it into a category.
Waves, Curls & Coils is the space I built out of that: private, unhurried, one guest at a time. You’ll leave with a shape that suits you and the confidence to keep it looking that way at home.
Because if there’s one thing I want you to know, it’s this: your hair was never the problem. 🤍
How I work
Curl type tells me almost nothing
Two people can have curls that look identical and need completely different things. Condition, density, porosity, buildup, what you’ve had done before, how much time you actually have in the morning. That’s what I’m reading when you’re in my chair, not a chart.
I want to teach you your hair.
Not make you dependent on me. If you can’t recreate it at home, I haven’t finished my job.
